Generalized Fixed Point Algebras and Square-integrable Group Actions

We analzye Rieffel’s construction of generalized fixed point algebras in the setting of group actions on Hilbert modules. Let G be a locally compact group acting on a C∗-algebra B. We construct a Hilbert module F over the reduced crossed product of G and B, using a pair (E, R), where E is an equivariant Hilbert module over B and R is a dense subspace of E with certain properties. The generalize...

Actions for Integrable Systems and Deformed Conformal Theories*

I report on work on a Lagrangian formulation for the simplest 1+1 dimensional integrable hierarchies. This formulation makes the relationship between conformal field theories and (quantized) 1+1 dimensional integrable hierarchies very clear.

Group Theory Structures Underlying Integrable Systems 1

Different group structures which underline the integrable systems are considered. In some cases, the quantization of the integrable system can be provided with substituting groups by their quantum counterparts. However, some other group structures keep non-deformed in the course of quantizing the integrable system although their treatment is to be changed. Manifest examples of the KP/Toda hiera...

Group Actions and Group Extensions

In this paper we study finite group extensions represented by special cohomology classes. As an application, we obtain some restrictions on finite groups which can act freely on a product of spheres or on a product of real projective spaces. In particular, we prove that if (Z/p)r acts freely on (S1)k , then r ≤ k.

Renormalization Group Reduction of Non Integrable Hamiltonian Systems

Based on the Renormalization Group method, a reduction of non integrable multi-dimensional hamiltonian systems has been performed. The evolution equations for the slowly varying part of the angle-averaged phase space density, and for the amplitudes of the angular modes have been derived. It has been shown that these equations are precisely the Renormalization Group equations. As an application ...
